TVS Sales Increase By 12%; But Exports Drop In October 2016

- TVS' two-wheeler sales increased by 15.1% in October 2016
- The scooter segment saw TVS grow by 1% with 92,417 units sold
- Motorcycle sales grew by 14.5% increasing to 1,21,550 units this October
It was a positive festive season for TVS Motor Company as the manufacturer recorded growth in volumes across all vehicle segments. The company recorded sales growth of 12 per cent in October this year retailing a cumulative 3,08,690 units; up from the 2,74,622 units sold in October 2015.
TVS' two-wheeler sales increased by 15.1 per cent last month to 3,03,885 units from 2,64,112 units pushed in October last year. The company's domestic two wheeler sales grew by 17.6 per cent on a year-on-year basis with 2,72,229 units sold last month, as opposed to the 2,31,491 units sold during the same period last year.
Exports however, weren't as bright with TVS shipping out 31,656 units in October 2016, a marginal drop when compared to the 32,621 units exported in October 2015.
The ever-growing scooter segment remained in favour of the Hosur based manufacturer with its vehicles registering sales of 92,417 units last month, a marginal hike of 1 per cent when compared to the 91,430 units sold in October 2015. Motorcycle sales grew by 14.5 per cent increasing from 1,06,175 units in October last year to 1,21,550 units in October 2016.

TVS Jupiter
With respect to three-wheeler sales, TVS registered a total of 4805 units in October this year, a strong drop of 54 per cent over 10,510 units sold in October 2015. The company's total exports registered sales of 35,134 units in October 2016 as against 41,682 units in October 2015.
TVS has had two launches this year including the all-new Victor and Apache RTR 200 4V motorcycles. While both models have been performing positively, the company has witnessed strong demand for the Jupiter, which remains one of the top selling scooters in the country. The company is now gearing up to introduce the Akula 310, showcased as a concept at the 2016 Auto Expo and will be making it to the market by March 2017.
