TVS Scooty Sales Cross The 5 Million Units Milestone

- The TVS Scooty is one of the longest-running gearless scooters on sale
- Its light weight and ease of riding made it popular with female riders
- Engine options include an 88 cc & 110 cc motor on the TVS Scooty range
TVS Motor Company recently announced that the entry-level Scooty has crossed the five million units sales milestone. Targeted at women riders, the company's popular offering was an instant hit since it first went on sale over three decades ago. The model has been constantly updated over the years in a bid to make it more appealing to newer and riders. The TVS Scooty remains one of the more accessible gearless scooters in the country with the range starting from Rs. 57,959 units.

Speaking about the milestone, a statement from TVS Motor Company read, "TVS Scooty range has been synonymous with female mobility in India for more than three decades in India. Since its launch, the TVS Scooty has been on an iconic journey by catering to the evolving needs of Indian women. TVS Scooty has matched the evolution of its consumer every step of the way. Today, the scooter is an ideal vehicle for the everyday commuter."

The TVS Scooty is the longest-running gearless scooter in the Indian market
The TVS Scooty continues to be an ever-dependable seller for the company. The model has been appreciated for its lightweight which makes it easy to handle for women riders, while the slim body and ergonomics make it a fairly comfortable model as well. The Scooty gets an ETFi Ecothrust engine that promises 15 per cent better fuel efficiency and performance than its older version. The suspension set-up comprises telescopic front forks and a single shock at the rear. The Scooty also uses TVS' patented Eazy stand technology, which reduces the effort to put the model on centre stand by 30 per cent.

TVS' most successful scooter though remains the Jupiter 110. The model was launched in 2013 and the company has already sold 4.5 million units of the scooter so far in a far less time frame than the Scooty.
