Yamaha RayZR Hybrid: Top 5 Highlights

- Hybrid engine will be the 125 cc unit with electric power assist

The Yamaha RayZR Hybrid and the Yamaha RayZR Street Rally Hybrid will be launched in the Indian market soon. The new hybrid models of the Yamaha RayZR range were showcased during the recent launch of the new Yamaha FZ-X neo-retro commuter motorcycle. The RayZR Hybrid scooters are expected to share the same 125 cc engine with electric power assist as the Fascino 125 FI Hybrid, and will also get a long list of new features, including Bluetooth connectivity. While India Yamaha Motor did showcase the RayZR range with a few details, full specifications and details are yet to be announced. Here are the top 5 highlights from what we know.

1. Hybrid Engine

The new Yamaha RayZR Hybrid will come with the 124 cc engine as before, but will get additional electric power assist, which will result in more torque than the current internal combustion engine. The current Yamaha RayZR's engine output is 8 bhp and 9.7 Nm, while the RayZR Hybrid's engine will produce the same 8 bhp, but more torque of 10.2 Nm. The new Yamaha Blue Core Hybrid engine will also be shared with the Yamaha Fascino 125 FI Hybrid, which will also be launched soon, perhaps before the Yamaha RayZR Hybrid.

2. Yamaha Motorcycle Connect App

The new Yamaha RayZR Hybrid and RayZR Street Rally Hybrid will get Bluetooth connectivity. While all the connected features will be announced at the time of the launch, the RayZR Hybrid will get the Yamaha Motorcycle Connect app, and will also get features like 'answer me' and remote hazard light activation to locate the scooter in a crowded parking lot. Also expected are last parked location, and more.
3. LED lighting

The new Yamaha RayZR Hybrid will get a new LED headlight, to give the scooter fresh appeal and lend it a sense of premium-ness. The instrument console is expected to be full-digital, though Yamaha has yet to reveal any details about the instrumentation, or the new connected features through the Yamaha Motorcycle Connect app.
4. New Colours

Both the new Yamaha RayZR Hybrid and the RayZR Street Rally Hybrid are expected to get several new colours to give the scooters fresh appeal and to justify the updated model tag. New decals along with new colours, on both the RayZR Hybrid and the RayZR Street Rally Hybrid will give the updated scooters fresh appeal.
5. Other Features

Other features on the new Yamaha RayZR Hybrid and the RayZR Street Rally Hybrid will include side-stand engine switch-off function, a silent electric starter, as well as automatic start-stop system.
