MG Ties Up With Jio-BP, Castrol To Expand EV Charging Infrastructure

- MG, Jio-BP to set up EV four-wheeler charging stations
- Castrol multi-brand Service network to now service EVs as well
- Castrol to install EV chargers throughout its service centre network
MG Motor India, Jio-BP and Castrol have entered a partnership to expand on the electric vehicle charging infrastructure in India along with developing an EV service network. Under the new partnership, Jio-BP and MG Motor India will look to expand the coverage of EV charging infrastructure in the country with a focus on electric four-wheelers while Castrol aims to expand the coverage of its multi-brand Auto Services network and Express Oil Change centres to also cater to EV owners.
Jio-BP, a joint venture between Reliance Industries and British oil and gas company 'BP', has already been pushing to develop EV charging infrastructure in the country under its Jio-BP Pulse brand. The company launched two EV charging hubs in the country last year – said to be one of the largest EV charging hubs currently in the country. The company has delved into setting up battery swapping stations across cities as well.

The company also announced that it would set up charging stations across its auto service network.
