TVS Jupiter Becomes The Second Bestselling Scooter This November

The scooter market has become more competitive than ever. According to the data released by Society of Indian Automobile Manufacturers (SIAM), Honda Activa remained on top of the list of bestsellers of November 2015.
Where most of the scooters witnessed a decline in sales figures this November, scooters like TVS Jupiter, Honda Dio and Mahindra Gusto saw a positive growth. Where Honda sold 1,91,175 Activa scooters last November, it sold 1,83,824 units this November which means a decline of 4%.
Second scooter in the list is the TVS Jupiter which rose from 32,138 units sold last November to 51,768. This growth means a rise of 61% which is the highest after Mahindra Gusto's 173%. Mahindra registered an impressive 173% increase in the sales figures of its Gusto, selling 8,646 units in November 2015.
Hero Maestro, at the third spot, witnessed a slump of 15% selling 35,672 units last month against 41,959 units sold last November. The recently launched Hero Duet sold 18,240 units, making it the fourth bestselling scooter this November. Honda Dio rose by 14% this November selling 17,090 units over 14,959 units sold last November.

Hero Pleasure was probably the most affected scooter in the entire segment as it registered a 40% hit this November. Where Hero sold 20,561 units of Pleasure last November, it managed to sell only 12,387 units in November 2015.
The hero of the segment, however, was the Mahindra Gusto which gained a momentum of 173% over last November's sales. Mahindra two-wheelers sold 8,646 units of Gusto in the Indian market making it the ninth bestseller in the month of November.
TVS Scooty Zest moved from ninth spot last November to 10th one year later. Where TVS sold 10,427 units of the Zest in November 2014, it sold 7,906 this year for the same duration witnessing a fall of 24%.
In an overall slow year for the two-wheelers, some particular models have undoubtedly shone over others. How the sentiments change next year, if they change at all, is something the entire industry is looking forward to witness.
