Two-Wheeler Sales December 2017: TVS Registers Growth Of 39 Per Cent

- TVS' scooter sales grew by 50.5 per cent in December 2017
- TVS' motorcycle sales grew by 63.7 per cent in December 2017
- TVS' Two-wheeler exports too grew by 52.7 per cent in December 2017
TVS Motor Company had a strong showing in December 2017 with a growth of 39 per cent over December 2016. The company sold 256,909 units in December 2017 as compared to 184,944 units in the corresponding month in 2016. The two-wheeler sales in particular registered growth of 37.9 per cent, selling 247,630 units in December 2017 in comparison to 179,551 units sold in December 2016. The domestic sales in the last month of 2017 were 207,778 units with the sales in corresponding month in 2016 being 153,456 units, which is a growth of 35.4 per cent.

Breaking the two-wheeler sales further down into motorcycles and scooters, TVS sold 83,640 scooters and 95,281 motorcycles in December 2017. The scooter sales grew by 50.5 per cent while the motorcycles sales showed a growth of 63.7 per cent over December 2016 where the company sold 55,557 scooters and 58,211 motorcycles.
Coming to exports, the company exported 47,818 units in December 2017 showing a growth of 55.8 per cent with 30,694 units sold in December 2016. Two-wheeler exports too grew by 52.7 per cent increasing from 26,095 units in December 2016 to 39,852 units in December 2017.
The third quarter of the FY2017-18 too was a successful one for TVS as the company's sales grew by 13.8 per cent, selling 7.99 lakh units in comparison to 7.02 lakh unit sold in third quarter of FY2016-17. Needless to say that TVS is surely taking strides when it comes to increasing its sales volumes year by year.
