Highlights
The Facebook page of BMW M revealed the M4 Coupe safety car for the 2014 MotoGP season. If you remember right, BMW had used the M6 Gran Coupe for last years' championship but this year is all about letting people know about the new M4 and what better way to do it than introduce it as a safety car.
The M4 Coupe safety car will wear the traditional M livery and the light bar. This safety car also gets performance parts such as the front skirt attachments, rear spoiler and diffuser - all crafted out of carbon fibre.
The M4 Coupe boasts of an inline-six cylinder, 3.0-litre TwinPower turbo which puts out a hefty 431bhp and 550Nm torques. Mated to a six-speed manual transmission this beast of an engine can power the car from 0-100km/h in 4.3 seconds or in 4.1 seconds when equipped with the optional 7-speed M DCT.
BMW also says that the top-speed has been electronically-limited to 250 km/h but BMW will offer an optional M Driver's Package which will see the car push to 280km/h.
