Sherco TVS Rider Joan Pedrero Wins PanAfrica Rally 2017; CS Santosh Finishes Ninth
Sherco TVS Rally Factory team riders Joan Pedrero and Adrien Metge took the top spots in the PanAfrica Rally 2017 with Indian rider Aravind KP finishing 12th. Hero MotoCorp's CS Santosh managed to finish under top tent, taking the ninth spot in Morocco.

Sherco TVS Rally Factory team dominated the PanAfrica Rally 2017 securing the top spots in Morocco with Spanish rider Joan Pedrero and French rider Adrien Metge taking the first and second positions respectively. Team Himoinsa's rider Daniel Oliveras from Spain finished third on his KTM. The only two Indian riders in the rally finished under top 15 impressively with CS Santosh of Hero MotoCorp taking the ninth spot and Aravind KP of Team Sherco TVS taking the 12th place.

The 2017 PanAfrica Rally is organized in the high dunes of the Sahara Desert where the soaring temperatures are one of the several harsh conditions the riders have to deal with. Pedrero was dominant through all the stages of the rally and finished the same in 13:04:45 hours, while Metge finished who was consistently second finished with a gap of 3.07 minutes behind his teammate. Sherco TVS' third rider Aravind KP from India put up a good show through the rally finishing 12th despite receiving a 35 minute time penalty in the fourth stage.

Speaking of his win, Joan Pedrero said, "I am really enjoying the performance these days because for many kilometers, I have had an open track. In short, it has been a very good experience for the next Dakar and also for OiLybia, which is next week."

Commenting on his performance, Aravind KP said, "The PanAfrica Rally was a huge learning ground for me. It has instilled tremendous confidence in me, considering that the overall performance of the team has been phenomenal. Over the years, I have felt closer to my Dakar motorcycle and post this rally, I now feel one with my motorcycle. It is an extremely satisfying feeling and now I look forward to the OiLibya Rally of Morocco."

The PanAfrica Rally is seen as a learning ground for the teams and riders as they gear up for Dakar 2018 in January next year. For now, the teams are preparing to participate in the OiLibya Rally of Morocco that will be held from October 4- October 10, 2017, as the riders prepare for new challenges.
