Highlights

  • Facelift is expected by festive season.
  • Cosmetic updates will be minor.
  • Biggest update will be the new 1.2-litre turbo diesel engine.

Mahindra is busy with multiple products, but the next big launch, it seems, will be the 2022 Mahindra XUV300 facelift, set to be introduced during the festive season. The company recently teased the refreshed version of its entry-level SUV suggesting its imminent launch. As far as the teaser image of the car goes, expect minor cosmetic changes to the face of the XUV300, however, the biggest update will come in the form of a new turbocharged diesel engine, to be sold alongside the petrol version of the car. The last upgrade offered to the Mahindra XUV300 was the introduction of an AMT unit to the car rivaling Hyundai Venue, Maruti Suzuki Brezza, Tata Nexon, Renault Kiger, and Nissan Magnite in the subcompact SUV space.

The 2022 Mahindra XUV300 facelift will feature the new Twin Peaks logo at the centre of the grille.

As part of the visual updates, the 2022 Mahindra XUV300 will feature the new Twin Peaks logo at the centre along with on the alloy wheels and the tailgate. The rest of the car will largely remain the same however, more details on this will be revealed closer to the launch. As far as the exterior paint scheme goes, expect Mahindra to introduce a brand new dual-tone colour to the range along with six monotone colour options. The sporty front grille chrome accents, LED DRLs, fog lamps, and skid plates at the front & rear are retained from the previous version of the Mahindra XUV300. The car continues to sit on a pair of 17-inch alloy wheels.

Inside, expect Mahindra to offer a slightly premium & upmarket cabin with updated upholstery. The 2022 XUV300 facelift will also come with an electric sunroof, front parking sensors, and a SIM-based connectivity platform called BlueSense Plus. Features retained in the 2022 Mahindra XUV300 will be dual-zone automatic AC, smart steering system, rear parking camera with guidelines, as well electronic ORVM with LED indicator, etc among others.

The silhouette will largely remain identical to the current version.

At the heart, expect Mahindra to introduce a new 1.2-litre turbocharged diesel engine that develops 128 bhp and 230 Nm of peak torque, coupled with a 6-speed manual and a 6-speed AMT, while the 1.2-litre petrol will be retained with a similar power output of 108 bhp and 200 Nm of peak torque, paired to a 6-speed manual gearbox. The older 1.5-litre diesel engine will be discontinued from the 2022 Mahindra XUV300 facelift.
