Highlights

  • The Jaguar E-Pace's cabin is still under development
  • The E-Pace gets a shifter lever instead of a rotary dial
  • The E-Pace will share its styling and design with the F-Pace

We have seen several spy images of the upcoming Jaguar E-Pace in the past few months and with all of them we have only managed to decipher what the compact crossover-SUV will look like from the outside. But now, some new spy shots of the car have surfaced online, which for the first time give us a glimpse of the cabin of the much-anticipated Jaguar E-Pace. Now, one thing that you need to remember is that the SUV is still under development so you'll see that a lot of these interior parts are either makeshift or camouflaged. That said we can still anticipate what the cabin will actually look like.

In the pictures, most of the dashboard and the door panels have been covers to hide the design and styling of the cabin. That said there are certain bits that tell us how different or similar it will be compared to its older brother the Jaguar F-Pace. Starting with the similarities, the overall layout of the E-Pace's cabin appears to be pretty much same as the F-Pace. The SUV also gets the same three-spoke steering wheel with mounted controls for various functions offered in the car and a similar design for the centre AirCon vents on the dashboard and also the seats.

As for the differences, the list is pretty much of the same size, at least for now. For starters, the E-Pace doesn't seem to get paddle shifters like the F-Pace does and unlike Jaguar's signature rotary dial for changing gears, the E-Pace test mule features a shifter lever. The rest of the cabin although, still looks pretty much unready judging from all the cables and giant monitor.

As for the SUV's exterior appearance, we have told you earlier that the Jaguar E-Pace will essentially be a baby F-Pace. This means the car will share its design and styling with the F-Pace and the judging from the test mules seen so far we are quite certain of it. The E-Pace is likely to mimic the face of its older sibling as the headlamps appear to follow the same design pattern and the bonnet also looks quite similar. That said the overall size of the SUV is clearly smaller and the silhouette is also a bit different when you look at the profile of the E-Pace.

Under the hood, the Jaguar, the E-Pace is likely to come with the new Ingenium family of engines, both the 2.0-litre petrol and 2.0-litre diesel. In fact, a hybrid setup is expected to be part of the line-up, either from day one or at least later in the model's lifecycle. Jaguar is also expected to offer both front-wheel-drive (FWD) setup and an all-wheel-drive (AWD) setup.
