  • Aims at educating students on road rules and traffic

Honda Motorcycle and Scooter India (HMSI) in association with Delhi Traffic Police has started a Road Safety Summer Camp for college students at Traffic Training Park in New Delhi. The Road Safety Summer Camp was inaugurated by Ranjeet Singh (In-charge, Traffic Training Park, Baba Kharak Singh Road, New Delhi) in the presence of dignitaries from Delhi Police, Government bodies & HMSI. The 10-days Road Safety Summer Camp is an interactive learning program targeted at college students aged 17-20 years. The camp aims at educating students on road rules and traffic by HMSI's skilled safety instructors.

Speaking on importance of road safety awareness, Prabhu Nagaraj, Operating Officer, Brand & Communication, Honda Motorcycle & Scooter India said, “As today's road users and future riders, it is essential for youngsters to have a holistic awareness about road safety. Sensitization towards traffic rules and safety at an early age will shape them as change agents of tomorrow. Kickstarting an engaging summer break with safety training camps, HMSI and Delhi Traffic Police have joined hands to educate Delhi's young college students on important aspects of road safety. This will not only instil a responsible road behaviour among them but will also play a vital role in spreading the road safety message to society at large.”

The camp will also be a secure and fun learning platform where students will learn about safety measures like self-defence, disaster management, fire safety and participate in quiz competition, slogan writing or poster making competition. To improve the risk prediction ability of riders on roads, participants will be given special danger prediction training known as Kiken Yosoku Training (KYT) which helps in enhancing rider/driver's sensitivity to danger and ensures safe driving action on roads. Then, to give participants a holistic understanding of road safety, the participants will then implement the learnings through practical training on a Honda two-wheeler. After the completion of training, students will be awarded with certificate of participation.
