The state-owned oil marketing companies (OMCs) on Sunday hiked fuel prices for the sixth straight day. As per details listed on the oil retailer's official website, petrol prices in Delhi soared by 30 paise while diesel became dearer by 35 paise a litre. With the latest price hike, fuel rates have touched new all-time highs across the country. In the national capital Delhi, petrol has surpassed the 103-mark retailing at Rs. 104.14 a litre while diesel has also touched a new high of Rs. 92.82 a litre. Fuel prices differ from state to state, which depends on the value-added tax (VAT) levied by the state government.

In Mumbai, petrol and diesel prices increased by 29 paise and 37 paise respectively.

Here are the petrol and diesel prices across six major metros on October 10, 2021:

For the first time, petrol prices in the financial capital Mumbai have breached the Rs. 110-mark, currently priced at Rs. 110.12 per litre, after a hike of 29 paise. Diesel, on the other hand, soared by 37 paise from Rs. 100.29 a litre to Rs. 100.66 a litre. Other metro cities witnessed a similar hike in fuel prices. In Chennai, the petrol became dearer by 26 paise to Rs. 101.53 a litre from Rs. 101.27 a litre while diesel touched Rs. 97.26 a litre, after a hike of by 33 paise. Customers in Kolkata will have to shell out Rs. 104.80 a litre for petrol and Rs. 95.93 a litre for diesel. Petrol and diesel prices in Bengaluru have touched Rs. 107.77 per litre and Rs. 98.52 per litre, respectively. Petrol in Hyderabad now costs Rs. 108.33 a litre, while diesel has breached Rs. 101-mark currently stands at Rs. 101.27 a litre.

Fuel rates remain the most expensive in Rajasthan's Sri Ganganagar district, as customers will have to shell out Rs. 116.18 per litre for petrol and Rs. 106.86 per litre for diesel. In the Anuppur and Rewa districts of Madhya Pradesh, petrol has touched Rs. 115.51 a litre and Rs. 115.11 a litre, while diesel retails at Rs. 104.52 and Rs. 104.16 a litre, respectively. Fuel rates in the Parbhani district of Maharashtra have touched Rs. 112.67 per litre and Rs. 101.57 per litre, respectively. Diesel retails above Rs. 100-mark in the cities like Ahmedabad, Aurangabad, Bhopal, Bhubaneswar, Hyderabad, Indore, Jaipur, Raipur, Thane, Mumbai, Hyderabad and Visakhapatnam.
