GM Releases Footage Of The New Hummer EV Pickup In Sub-Zero Conditions

GM has released footage of the GMC Hummer EV pickup which was being tested during the winter, showcasing its off-road capabilities.  The Hummer EV truck has a range of 563 kilometres and costs $80,000 which means that even the pickup truck variant would be priced around the same range. 

The EV marks the revival of the Hummer brand 

GM has proven that it has a quick turnaround time for these vehicles when it comes down to production. It has been releasing test footage of the electric pickup for the last couple of months but this footage showcases its capabilities in sub-zero temperatures. 

"Winter testing in Michigan's Upper Peninsula, where the GMC Hummer EV team put this super-truck through its paces in sub-zero temperatures on various slippery surfaces, including snow, ice, steep and split-mu grades. Key tests include integrating its powerful all-wheel-drive torque distribution with the traction control system, as well as calibrating and testing the electronic stability control system," said GM in a statement. 

In addition to this GM is also working on an SUV version of the Hummer EV, but that vehicle is not expected to go into production till 2022.
