Mercedes-Benz India Reports Sales Of 4,238 Cars And SUVs In Q1 FY2026

Mercedes-Benz reported a 10 per cent growth in sales in the first quarter of FY2026 with 4,238 units sold. This continues to put the brand ahead of rival BMW in the Indian luxury car market as the highest-selling brand. The sales growth also marks a notable step forward compared to Q4 FY2025, where the brand reported an 11.8 per cent drop in sales year-on-year. Cumulatively, Mercedes-Benz sold 9,013 units in the country in the first half of the calendar year, ahead of BMW’s 7,477 units.

The GLE, alongside the GLC, accounted for 60 per cent of all cars sold.
Mercedes said it posted a growth in sales in both the core and top-end vehicle segments. The Core segment, housing models such as the C-Class and E-Class LWB sedans, along with the GLC and GLE SUVs, reported a 10 per cent growth in sales in the quarter. Sales of the GLC and GLE combined accounted for 60 per cent of all Mercedes-Benz cars sold in the quarter.

The top-end vehicle (TEV) segment, meanwhile, posted a 20 per cent sales growth compared to Q1 FY2025. Mercedes reported strong customer demand for the S-Class, Mercedes-Maybach Night Series, G 580 with EQ Technology, EQS SUV and the AMG G 63 in the segment, with the brand also revealing that all units of the recently launched AMG GT 63 Pro allotted for 2025 were sold out.
EV sales were up 157 per cent year-on-year in the quarter.

The entry luxury segment, housing models such as the A-class, GLA and GLB, however, witnessed a marginal sales decline, though Mercedes did not share any details.
On the EV front, Mercedes says that sales in the quarter were up 157 per cent year-on-year. EVs amounted to 8 per cent of all cars sold in the quarter, with Mercedes saying that its range of TEVs accounted for the majority of the sales.
