While petrol has become dearer by up to 39 paise, diesel has remained unchanged on Monday. With the latest hike, petrol has inched towards Rs. 100 per litre mark in Delhi and Kolkata.

The state-owned oil marketing companies on Monday increased petrol prices for the second straight day. Diesel rates were left unchanged. Fuel rates are at all-time highs across the country. In the last two months, petrol rates were increased 35 times while diesel has surged 33 times. With the latest revision, petrol is slowly inching towards Rs. 100 per litre mark in the national capital Delhi and Kolkata. In Delhi, petrol became dearer by 35 paise a litre from Rs. 99.51 a litre to Rs. 99.86 a litre. Diesel remained untouched at Rs. 89.36 a litre. At the same time, petrol rates in Kolkata stand at Rs. 99.85 per litre with a 39 paise hike, while diesel stands unchanged at Rs. 92.27 a litre.

In Kolkata, petrol and diesel are priced at Rs. 99.85 a litre and Rs. 92.27 a litre, respectively

Here are the petrol and diesel prices across six major metros on July 05, 2021:

In Mumbai, petrol has neared Rs. 106-mark as it currently retails at Rs. 105.75 a litre, while diesel continues to retail at Rs. 96.91 a litre. As for other metro cities, petrol in Chennai jumped to Rs. 100.75 a litre after a hike of 31 paise a litre. In Hyderabad and Bengaluru, petrol touched Rs. 103.78 a litre and Rs. 103.20 a litre, respectively.

Petrol retails above Rs. 100-mark in 12 states and union territories, including Maharashtra, Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, Karnataka, Bihar, Kerala, Tamil Nadu, Jammu and Kashmir, Odisha and Ladakh. Diesel on Sunday breached Rs. 100-mark in Madhya Pradesh's Rewa district, currently standing at Rs. 100.18 a litre while petrol has touched Rs. 110.37 a litre.

Fuel prices are the most expensive in Sri Ganganagar of Rajasthan, where petrol has breached Rs. 111-mark, currently standing at Rs. 111.14 a litre while diesel retails at Rs. 102.60 a litre. In Madhya Pradesh's Anuppur and Bhopal, petrol reached Rs. 110.73 a litre and Rs. 108.16 a litre, respectively. Customers in the Parbhani district of Maharashtra will have to pay Rs. 108.23 a litre and Rs. 97.66 a litre for petrol and diesel, respectively.
