Skoda Kushaq Monte Carlo Variant Launched In India; Prices Begin At Rs. 15.99 Lakh

Skoda Auto India has launched the Kushaq Monte Carlo variant in India priced from Rs. 15.99 lakh to Rs. 19.49 lakh (ex-showroom, India). The special variant of the compact SUV is positioned above the existing top-of-the-line Style trim of the Kushaq and comes with a premium of Rs. 70,000. Like the Monte Carlo variants of the previous Skoda cars, the Kushaq too comes with revised styling elements and additional features that uplift the premiumness and sporty quotient of the SUV.

The Skoda Kushaq Monte Carlo gets blacked-out elements on the exterior replacing the chrome bits. There's also new alloy wheels borrowed from the previous-generation Octavia RS

Now, for the uninitiated, the Monte Carlo edition of cars from Skoda pays homage to the company's legacy and pedigree in motorsport and rallying, and this treatment is always given to Skoda's special cars. Considering the Kushaq has been the best-selling Skoda model in India, it was a no-brainer to bring in the Monte Carlo version of the compact SUV. The SUV come with the Monte Carlo badging on the front fenders, and it is offered in two colour options - Tornado Red and Candy White.

Visually, the Kushaq Monte Carlo trim comes with updated styling which includes - Glossy black treatment for the grille surrounds, front and rear skid plates, trunk garnish and ORVMs. The SUV also gets a carbon steel painted roof with matte black roof rails and dark chrome door handles, along with a set of bigger 17-inch Vega dual-tone alloy wheels. The SUV also features the Monte Carlo badge on the front fender instead of the Skoda lettering, and glossy black treatment for Skoda and Kushaq badging at the rear. The SUV continues to feature Skoda's signature Crystalline LED headlamps with daytime running lamps and Crystalline split LED taillamps.

Monte Carlo gets a black finished roof along with gloss black trims replacing the chrome detailing.

The cabin of the Kushaq Monte Carlo comes with new red accents on the dashboard, centre console, interior door handles, and door panels. The seats too are now draped in new dual-tone red and black Leatherette upholstery with 'Monte Carlo' lettering on headrests, and red stitching for the door armrest and front centre armrest. The SUV also gets Monte Carlo scuff plates and red ambient lighting. Skoda has also equipped the Kushaq Monte Carlo with a new 8-inch fully digital virtual cockpit, an updated 10-inch touchscreen infotainment system with a new red theme, and aluminium foot pedals. The SUV also continues to offer features like a wireless charger, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, ventilated front seats, auto climate control, and a sunroof among others.

Under the hood, like the Style trim, the Kushaq Monte Carlo also comes with the choice of both the 1.0-litre TSI engine and the 1.5-litre TSI motor. The 1.0 TSI continues to develop 113 bhp and 175 Nm and will be available with both a 6-speed manual and 6-speed torque converter automatic gearbox. The 1.5 TSI meanwhile develops a stronger 148 bhp and 250 Nm and will be available with a 6-speed manual or 7-speed dual-clutch automatic gearbox. The 1.5-litre trim also comes with red front brake calipers that differentiate it from the 1.0-litre version.
