Updated KTM 390 Adventure X Launched At Rs 3.03 Lakh

KTM has rolled out an updated version of the 390 Adventure X in India, just six months after the launch of the second-generation model. As we confirmed previously, the updated version is priced at Rs 3.03 lakh (ex-showroom), which is around Rs 12,000 more expensive on the ex-showroom price than its previous iteration, launched at Rs 2.91 lakh. However, the price difference brings along a suite of electronic upgrades that significantly updates the motorcycle's appeal and capability.

The most notable update is the inclusion of several electronic rider aids seen on the top-spec 390 Adventure. The updated 390 Adventure X now comes equipped with IMU-based cornering ABS, traction control, and cruise control. Additionally, KTM has added three ride modes – Road, Rain, and Off-Road – with distinct throttle responses.

Apart from these additions, the motorcycle continues to use the same 399 cc liquid-cooled single-cylinder engine which makes 44 bhp and 39 Nm of torque, paired with a six-speed gearbox and a bi-directional quickshifter. The suspension setup also remains the same with non-adjustable units, while the wheels are 19-inch front and 17-inch rear cast alloys, fitted with Apollo TramplR dual-purpose tyres.

With this update, the 390 Adventure X presents a strong case, especially given that it is nearly Rs 65,000 more affordable than the top-spec KTM 390 Adventure, which is priced at Rs. 3,67,699 (Ex-showroom). Do note, however, that the 390 Adventure X lacks wire-spoked wheels and fully adjustable suspension, but unless you will be spending more time off-road than on tarmac, the 390 Adventure X now makes a compelling case, given the price difference.  

The decision to upgrade the 390 Adventure X so soon after its launch appears to be driven by customer preferences. When compared to the top-spec variant, the X version lacked a lot of features which have now been added to the motorcycle. It seems KTM has been paying close attention to customer feedback. Earlier, the 390 Duke received cruise control, followed by the RC 200 getting a full-colour 5.0-inch TFT display. And now, KTM India has also launched the international-spec KTM 390 Enduro R which gets more suspension travel and ground clearance than the India-spec 390 Enduro R already on sale.
