2017 KTM 1190 Adventure Spied Testing In Europe

Highlights
- The updates are to make the bike Euro IV compliant
- KTM 1190 Adventure is not on sale in India
- There will be 3 variants of the KTM 1190 Adventure
KTM is fully committed to bringing in changes to most of the motorcycles in its international line-up. The 1190 Adventure remains an important motorcycle for the Austrian manufacturer as far as sales are concerned. In order to meet the Euro IV norms, which will be enforced from April 1, 2017, the motorcycle has been updated and there's quite a bit that has/will be changed.
First and foremost, the headlamp will see a vertical strip down the centre dividing it into two and which just might work as an air intake (For cooling the LEDs?) as well. The fairing is all-new too as are the LEDs. The panels surrounding the fuel tank are also new which get newly designed air intakes. From what we gather, the instrumentation panel too might get a TFT unit.

In compliance with the Euro IV norms, the noise will have to be reduced to KTM will make use of engine components which soften the engine and the exhaust noise. The density of catalysts is also being increased so as to increase efficiency. KTM might also fit the 1190 Adventure with carbon capture canisters which do not let overflowing fuel go to waste.
As far as models go, KTM will be showing off the new 1190 Adventure at Intermot bike show in October this year. The new 1190 Adventure will be on sale internationally early next year and along with it, KTM's all-new 800 Adventure model might be launched as well. There will be three different variants of the 1190 Adventure that will be showcased.

The 1190 Adventure made its international debut in 2013 and this will be the first face-lift and a mid-life update at the same time, especially with the stringent Euro IV emission norms coming into force soon.
