Highlights

Williams Racing had a tough Saturday this weekend, as the team's driver Nicholas Latifi crashed out yet again in qualifying, after a contact with the Aston Martin of Lance Stroll for which Stroll was later penalized. However, Williams' miseries haven't ended there, as the team's other driver Alex Albon has now been disqualified from the qualifying for the Australian GP.

The Thai driver had only managed to qualify P16 in the red flag inflicted session and was frustrated with that result anyway, as he believed his Williams FW44 had enough pace to make it to Q2. He also had a 3 place grid drop penalty from Jeddah for causing a collision, which meant he would've started today's race in 19th. However, following qualifying, Albon was penalized as his car didn't have enough fuel to return the 1 litre fuel sample to FIA for quality checks as dictated by Article 6.5.2 of the FIA Formula 1 Technical Regulations.

Williams team engineers also had Albon stop his car after his run in Q1, perhaps citing the low fuel level in the car. But despite Albon stopping the car and pushing it out of the way, the remaining fuel level was still too low for a large enough sample.

Alex Albon will be allowed to start the race from the back of the grid in P20, as his teammate will be parked right in front of him in P18. The last 2 rows will be completed by Aston Martin drivers Sebastian Vettel and Lance Stroll, as the British team has had continual struggles throughout the weekend.
