MG celebrates 90th birthday with the Dynamo EV

Highlights
Chinese-owned MG is celebrating its 90th birthday and how. They are bringing out a battery-powered concept car called Dynamo. Though it's just a re-badged Roewe E50, it takes the form of the Dynamo and hence becomes a four-seater sub-compact hatchback.
If you look at the Dynamo, it is similar in size to the Volkswagen up! Indeed, it is fully functional and comes powered with a 70bhp churning electric motor which is linked to a small lithium ion phosphate battery pack.
It is a solution for urban transport, however, it does back in some punch as it accelerates from 0-100km/h in 14 seconds and tops out at 120km/h. On a full charge, the Dynamo is capable of travelling a distance of 80km on a full charge.
It takes six hours to fully charge the batteries via a regular household outlet a quick charger will restore anywhere between 10- and 80-percent of the battery's capacity in just 30 minutes.
The Dynamo can be quickly added to its lineup as a regular-production model if there is enough demand from European buyers but there is no indication by when this will happen.
