Bajaj Motorcycle Sales Grow 26 per Cent in March

Bajaj Auto Limited posted a growth of 26 per cent in overall motorcycle sales in March 2016, as compared to the same period a year ago. Overall Bajaj sold 2,64,249 motorcycles in March '16 as compared to 2,09,937 in March '15.
Two wheeler exports accounted for over one lakh units at 1,01,519 in March 2016. Bajaj also posted its best ever March sales of commercial vehicles in March 2016, selling 41,551 units. A year ago, Bajaj had sold 40,667 units of CVs. In March 2016, CV exports stood at 98,703 contributing to an overall 22 per cent growth in exports.
In the fiscal period though, Bajaj posted 2 per cent growth in motorcycle sales, accounting for 33,58,252 unit sales of motorcycles from April 2015 to March 2016, against 32,92,084 units in the same period a year ago. Commercial vehicle sales posted the highest ever sales in the period - a growth of 3 per cent - with 5,35,329 unit sales compared to 5,19,117 units sold in the corresponding period a year ago.
Overall exports in the period, however, took a 4 per cent hit at 17,39,629 units in the April 2015 - March 2016 period.
