BMW To Hike Prices By Up To 3.5 Percent

BMW is set to hike prices of its range of cars and SUVs by up to 3.5 percent from April 1, 2022. This is BMW's first announced price hike for 2022 though the carmaker, as per media reports, had hiked prices of select cars in their line-up since the start of the year. The carmaker joins Audi which too is set to hike prices by up to 3 percent from April 1.
BMW says that the hike in pricing has been necessitated owing to material and logistics costs along with fluctuations in exchange rates and the current geo-political situation.

Price hikes have become common in the auto industry especially around the time of the start of the new year – both calendar and the financial year. It is safe to expect other carmakers too to follow suit and announce a hike in prices.

BMW offers an extensive line-up of cars in India ranging from locally-assembled compact luxury cars all the way to CBU import performance cars. Locally assembled models include the likes of the 2 Series Gran Coupe, 3 Series and 3 Series Gran limousine, the 5 Series, 6 Series GT, the X1, X3, X4 and X5. The carmaker's flagship 7 Series sedan and X7 luxury SUV are also locally assembled though select variants are CBU imports.
On the CBU front the carmakers' line-up comprises of the 8 Series Gran Coupe, X6, Z4, M2, M5 and X5 M Competition, the M8 Coupe and the X7 M50d and M760 Li. Also imported is BMW's first all-electric model for India the new iX SUV.
