Highlights

  • The Ducati Scrambler will come with a bigger, 1,078 cc air-cooled engine
  • The new Scrambler 1100 will also be bigger in size
  • Ducati already has a lower-spec Scrambler in its global portfolio

There will be loads of updated and new Ducati models such as the Multistrada 950 Enduro, 959 Panigale Corse, the recently unveiled 2018 Monster 821 and so on. And how could Ducati leave out its Scrambler range? After all, it did wonders to the sales volumes too. Some reports suggest that the Italian brand will be showcasing a Scrambler with a bigger engine. Yes! There already were reports floating around on the wonder that is the Internet and now Ducati has dropped a major hint that it will be taking the wraps off a new/updated/bigger Scrambler at the upcoming EICMA Motorcycle Show.

Ducati will be bringing back it's 1,078 cc air-cooled engine and put it in the scrambler, making the Scrambler a litre-class bike. That already has got us drooling. Reports suggest that the new Scrambler 1100 will also be bigger in size and have more road presence. Well, honestly, we simply cannot wait to see what Ducati is up to with its Scrambler range. The Instagram post does confirm that there will be a Scrambler which will be new in some way, but what exactly it is; only Ducati knows. There are six iterations of the Ducati Scrambler presently, and all of them use the same 803 cc L-Twin motor.

Ducati already has a lower-spec Scrambler in its global portfolio, which is the 399 cc Scrambler Sixty2. Therefore, the only way that the Scrambler can go is above the current 800 cc. Also, a bigger Scrambler priced correctly can directly take the fight to models such as the Indian Scout and some of the sub 12 lakh rupee Harleys. We do hope that Ducati brings the bigger Scrambler to India soon.
