BMW Group India has announced that Hardeep Singh Brar will take over as its new CEO and President with effect from September 1, 2025. Brar succeeds Vikram Pawah to the role with the latter set to take over as CEO of BMW Group Australia and New Zealand.

Speaking on the appointment, Jean-Philippe Parain, Senior Vice President, Region Asia-Pacific, Eastern Europe, Middle East and Africa, BMW Group said, “India is among the fastest growing markets for BMW Group and an important pillar of our long-term success strategy for the region. Hardeep Singh Brar holds vast expertise and an intricate understating of Indian automotive industry to lead this dynamic market and strengthen BMW Group’s operations here. We would like to thank Vikram Pawah for his immense contribution towards strategic growth of BMW Group India and playing a decisive role in its recent development.”

BMW Vikram Pawah

Current BMW Group India CEO, Vikram Pawah, is set to take over as CEO of BMW Group Australia & New Zealand.

 

Hardeep Singh Brar arrives at BMW after a notable stint with Kia India serving as the brand’s Senior Vice President for Sales and Marketing since 2021. He has also held managerial roles with brands such as Maruti Suzuki, Nissan, General Motors, and Great Wall Motors in India.

Meanwhile, outgoing BMW Group India CEO Vikram Pawah parts ways with the Group’s India operations after around 5 years at the helm. Pawah was appointed CEO of BMW Group India in 2020 and, in recent years, has lead the brand to post its best ever sales numbers in the country.
