Suzuki Alivio aka Maruti Ciaz unveiled at Beijing Motor Show

Highlights
Suzuki has unveiled its new mid-sized sedan Alivio at the 2014 Beijing Motor Show. The same product was unveiled at the 2014 Indian Auto Expo in February as the Maruti Suzuki Ciaz, however, the Alivio looks very close to the production ready version.
The Alivio/Ciaz gets its styling cues from the Suzuki Authentics Concept, which was first unveiled at the 2013 Shanghai Motor Show. While the new model looks more contemporary, the ageing SX4 looks more masculine and bold. However, the high ground clearance and increased height will contribute to the ride quality of the new car.
Expected to be launched during this year's festive season, the Ciaz will replace the not-so-successful SX4. While in China, the Alivio will get the 1.6-litre DOHC 4-cylinder petrol engine coupled to a newly developed 6-speed manual transmission, the India-bound Ciaz will continue to feature the existing engine options. If rumours are to be believed, the top-end diesel variant of the Ciaz might power the 1.6-litre multi-jet diesel unit. Also, the Indian version will be offered with an option to choose from a five-speed manual transmission or an automated manual transmission (AMT).
The Suzuki Alivio measures 4545mm in length, 1475mm in height, 1730mm in width and has a large wheelbase of 2650mm.
