Triumph Motorcycles India has rolled out a teaser for the upcoming launch of the Trident 660 Special Edition. First unveiled globally in March 2024, this edition features a distinctive livery known as the 'Slippery Sam,' commemorating the iconic 750cc Trident race bike. The original Slippery Sam achieved notoriety in the 1970s with five consecutive Isle of Man TT victories, along with numerous short circuit wins for Triumph.

Differing from the standard model's paint schemes, the Special Edition wears a triple-tone paint scheme. It combines a white base with blue and red accents and features the race-inspired number '67' graphics. The special livery extends across the fuel tank, front fender, flyscreen, and tail section. Also, Triumph throws in the flyscreen, belly pan, and bidirectional quick-shifter as standard equipment on this edition, whereas these are accessories listed as optional on the standard model.

Mechanically, the Special Edition is the same. It continues with the 660 cc inline-triple engine that makes 80 bhp and 64 Nm of torque, and it comes with a 6-speed transmission. Suspension is taken care of by a 41 mm upside-down fork at the front and a preload-adjustable rear monoshock, both from Showa. The braking setup consists of dual 310 mm discs up front and a single 225 mm disc at the rear.
