Highlights

Hero MotoCorp, the country's largest two-wheeler manufacturer, sold a mammoth three lakh motorcycles and scooters in a single day, the highest-ever by any company across the globe. The blockbuster sales for Hero came on Dhanteras, two days before Diwali, when Indian consumers consider it an auspicious occasion for buying gold or silver articles and even utensils. Dhanteras also marks heavy purchases of home appliances and automobiles. It is believed by Hindus that acquiring new wealth on this day in the form of metals, or automobiles is a sign of good luck.
"This festive season has been a blockbuster for Hero MotoCorp. The highest-ever single day retail sales of well over three lakh units on Dhanteras comes on the back of what has been a season of new global records for Hero. We sold a record 7-lakh units in September, the highest ever in monthly sales by any company and also sold over two million units in the second Quarter," a senior Hero MotoCorp official said.
