Hyundai Creta SUV's Waiting Period Goes Down

The Hyundai Creta had received more than 10,000 pre-orders and the number went over 56,000 within 2 months of the SUV's launch in India.

Hyundai Creta, the top-selling SUV in the country, has received an overwhelming response from across the country even before it was launched. Case in point, the Hyundai Creta had received more than 10,000 pre-orders and the number went over 56,000 within 2 months of the SUV's launch in India. Considering the massive demand, the waiting period for the car, up till now, has been an average of 10 months. In fact, the South Korean carmaker has increased the SUV's production from 5,000 units per month to 7,000 units that, in turn, has brought down the waiting period to 3 months. Interestingly, come December, the company will further boost the Hyundai Creta's production to 9,000-10,000 units. Delving into details about the Hyundai Creta's sales numbers, it sold about 7,300 units in September, 2015. Whereas, the SUV's biggest competitors, namely, Mahindra Scorpio and Renault Duster, sold 4,321 and 1,009 units, respectively, in the same period. With that being said, one must note the carmaker recently hiked the Hyundai Creta's price by up to 20,000 perhaps with the intent to increasing its profit margin.
