Bharat NCAP: Maruti Suzuki Dzire Secures 5-Star Crash Safety Rating
The new Dzire scored well for both adult and child occupant protection with five-star safety ratings in both categories.

Having already secured a five-star Global NCAP crash test safety rating in November 2024, the Maruti Suzuki Dzire has now secured a five-star safety rating in Bharat NCAP crash testing. The sedan secured a total of 29.46 points out of 32 for adult occupant protection and 41.57 out of 49 points for child occupant protection, enough to earn a five-star safety rating in both categories.

Maruti Suzuki Dzire Bharat NCAP 2

In terms of adult occupant protection, the Dzire offers between marginal to good levels of protection to occupants in the frontal offset, movable side impact and side pole impact testing. The subcompact sedan scored 14.17 out of a possible 16 points for the frontal offset barrier impact test, dropping points due to offering marginal protection to the driver’s chest. Side deformable barrier impact testing received a higher 15.29 points out of 16.

Moving to child occupant protection, the Dzire scored 23.57 points out of 24 in dynamic testing, as well as securing a full 12 points for Child Restraint System installation. The car, however, dropped points in vehicle assessment score, securing 6 out of a total of a possible 13.

Maruti Suzuki has upped its safety game with the Dzire, with the sedan arriving with a host of passive safety systems as standard. All variants, including those for fleet markets, are offered with six airbags as standard along with electronic stability control, ISOFIX child seat anchors, three-point seatbelts for all five passengers, anti-lock brakes, a seat belt reminder system and rear parking sensors. The carmaker has also gradually been upgrading its line-up of cars with additional safety features with even models such as the Alto, Wagon R and Eeco now featuring six airbags as standard.
