Hero MotoCorp has updated its bestselling motorcycle, the Hero Splendor Plus to comply with the stricter OBD2B regulations. The OBD2B regulations are part of Bharat Stage VI (BS6) Phase 2 emission norms, which require vehicles manufactured on or after April 1, 2025 to comply with stricter on-board diagnostic standards.
The second-generation onboard diagnostic device helps constantly monitor emissions, detect potential issues, such as improper fuelling or abnormal emissions and will also notify the rider before they become major issues. Naturally, prices have been marginally increased for motorcycles which meet the latest regulations.

Mechanically, the Hero Splendor is powered by the same 97.2 cc, single-cylinder air-cooled engine which produces 7.9 bhp at 8000 rpm and 8.05 Nm of peak torque at 6000 rpm.

The Hero Splendor is available in three trims, all with the same engine, the Splendor+, Splendor+ XTec and Splendor+ XTec 2.0. The base Splendor+ is a no-frills commuter motorcycle with basic equipment while the Splendor+ XTec is also offered with the option of a front disc brake. The XTec 2.0 gets features like a LED headlight and Bluetooth-connected instrument console, but missed out on an optional front disc brake. Prices for all three trims of the Hero Splendor have been increased by Rs. 1750.
Prices for the Hero Splendor+ Drum Brake with OBD2B update begins at Rs. 78,926 (Ex-showroom), going up to Rs. 80,176 (Ex-showroom) for the Splendor+ I3S with OBD2B update. Prices for the top-end Splendor+ XTec have also been increased by Rs. 1,750 and it’s now priced at Rs. 85,501 (Ex-showroom). More updated models are expected through April and May 2025 which will need to meet these new regulations.
