India Kawasaki Motors has launched the 2022 model year Kawasaki Vulcan S cruiser motorcycle in India. The updated model is now available in a new Metallic Matte Graphenesteel Gray colour and is priced in India at Rs. 6.10 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi). The BS6 compliant version of the Kawasaki Vulcan S was launched exactly a year ago in August 2020, and since then, the motorcycle has become dearer by Rs. 31,000. The BS6 version itself came with a priced hike of Rs. 30,000 over the BS4 model. Deliveries for the new Kawasaki Vulcan S will begin in September 2021.

Except for the new colour, visually, the motorcycle remains unchanged. The new dual-tone grey and silver paint scheme is accentuated by Kawasaki green stripes on the fuel tank and matching reflective pinstripes for the wheels. Among its key highlights, you still get the ERGO-FIT sizing system which includes - adjustable handle, seat and footpeg. Other features include an analogue-style tachometer and multi-purpose LCD screen with gear position indicator, and black 5-spoke wheels.

The 2022 Kawasaki Vulcan S is the same BS6 compliant 649 cc parallel-twin liquid-cooled engine

Powering the 2022 Kawasaki Vulcan S is the same BS6 compliant 649 cc parallel-twin liquid-cooled engine. The motor is tuned to make 60 bhp at 7,500 rpm, and a peak torque of 62.4 Nm at 6,600 rpm, while paired with a 6-speed gearbox. The motorcycle tips the scales at 235 kg and comes with a 14 litres fuel tank. The seat height of the motorcycle is a low 705 mm.

With regards to cycle parts, the Vulcan S gets 41 mm telescopic forks up front that have a travel of 130 mm, along with an offset rear monoshock with a travel of 80 mm. Up front, there's a single 300 mm disc brake with dual pistons, while the rear wheel gets a 250 mm disc with a single-piston, along with dual-channel ABS.
