Mahindra Teases the New Face of the XUV500; Launch on 25th May 2015

Highlights
There are quite a few changes made to the car and up front, the new XUV500 will boast of a new headlamp cluster and an S-shaped LED day time running lights The SUV will also get 'L-shaped' chrome-finished fog lamp enclosures which complete the changes made to the front.
There are also new alloy wheels on offer and we'll see some chrome-garnished registration plate enclosure and a differently designed rear door too. The interiors of the facelift version will see no changes and they will be carried forward from the current model. Mahindra though will add some new colours to the palette to make the look and feel on the inside a bit more upmarket.
Under the hood too will be the same 2.2-liter four-cylinder diesel engine which churns out a hefty 140bhp and develops 330Nm of torques while also being fuel efficient by returning 15.1km/l. However, there are changes made to the suspension which translates into better ride quality.
Having sold 1 lakh units of the car in just 34 months, Mahindra has had its success with the SUV but it gets quite a few rivals now compared to when it was launched and these include the likes of the Renault Duster, Nissan Terrano, Skoda Yeti and the Tata Safari Storme. Mahindra would want to repeat the success, but we'll see how the Indian customers take to this new avtaar of the XUV500.
