Mahindra Imperio Premium SCV to Be Launched in India on January 6
Highlights
When it comes to utility vehicles, Mahindra and Mahindra offers the widest range of options be it private vehicles or commercial vehicles. While the carmaker has a number of new premium offerings to its name when we talk about the former segment, like the Scorpio and the XUV500, none truly in the commercial segment, but that is about to change now with the new Mahindra Imperio.
According to Mahindra the new Imperio premium pickup truck promises to provide a high end product experience in its segment of small commercial vehicles. The vehicle has been designed to offer a perfect combination of Style, Performance and Driving comfort. The Mahindra Imperio will cater to the needs of small and medium businesses (SMEs) in India, as shown in this latest teaser.
Coming to the vehicle itself, the new Mahindra Imperio is basically a face lifted version of the much popular yet ageing Mahindra Genio. The SCV will be branded in India as Imperio to go with its premium stature and comes with new design and style cues. The front fascia has been redesigned with a bolder toothed-grille, sharper headlamp cluster, and new front bumper housing a neatly designed circular fog lamp enclosure.
Under the hood the Imperio pick-up truck will be powered by a 2.5-liter four-cylinder mDI CRDe diesel engine that does duty in the current gen Genio. The engine produces a maximum of 75bhp and 220 Nm of peak torque, while mated to a 5-speed gearbox. In India the Mahindra Imperio will compete with the likes of Isuzu D-Max.
